Children's Bedroom

In this very feminine bedroom, Vicky Driscoll has created an inviting, lush sanctuary. Special items borrowed from friends, as well as unique pieces from other sources, were carefully chosen to create a sophisticated yet charming atmosphere designed for comfort and relaxation.

Enveloping the bed is an elegant painted gazebo laced with flower studded vines, which brings an ethereal beauty into the room. Warm shades of gold, green, and coral found in the bed linens served as inspiration for the mural's bold garden setting. Light streams through windows overlaid with stunning sheer silk embroidered balloon shades. The sumptuous duvet and pillows are covered in a lovely combination of floral cottons and silks enhanced with bead and braided trims. Beside lamps with silk beaded shades are ready to shine with the evening's light as they sit atop delicately painted round tables. The antique bronze chandelier gives the ceiling life with its elegant, shimmering crystals. Two rust iron candle sconces flank the distressed, antique painted chest borrowed from a dear friend.

Continuing the outdoor theme, warm brown wicker chairs with embroidered bronze silk pillows provide an appealing area for a relaxing read or chatting with a friend. The magnificent 19th Century Persian rug in coral and cream shimmers as it transitions between the bedding and the warmth of the brown wicker seating.

Finishing the east wall is a wooden bench holding candles and a large vase of dried twigs. The three gold wire letters above, "R O S", of course stands for "Restoration of Spirit," and holds very special meaning to the designer. As this project has evolved, she has been inspired by the extraordinary generosity of others and their willingness to help. Some were businesses, some were friends; but all were willing to donate their time, talent, or a special item to benefit a worthy cause. For their contributions, Vicky is most grateful.
